Spring is in the air!

We lost a few of my favorite plants during the winter, but our pink knockout roses made it.





This year we decided it was time for Bella to have her own garden to plant, maintain, and then harvest. We bought (2) 4'x4' garden boxes and filled them with bell peppers, NM chili peppers, salsa peppers...do you see a theme going??? Plus we put in tomatoes, oregano, basil, and rosemary. We plan to use everything to make either salsa or focaccia bread.

Flying High

Today was a gorgeous, windy day....perfect for flying a kite! We put together Bella's Sesame Street kite and we were out the door. She loved seeing the kite flying in the air, but had a little trouble holding on to it. It was SOOOO windy!!!

With Daddy's help, she was able to get the string unknotted and it was back in the air.

Bayou Wildlife Park

Bella and I went to the Bayou Wildlife Animal Park in Alvin with our toddler playgroup and we enjoyed the adventure. We could have done without the disappointing customer service ordeal, but overall, we really had a good time.

The animal reserve is on 80 acres of land and they took us by a train through the property. We had a few buckets of food and the animals were not the least bit shy in coming up to the cars to get some food.

This ostrich was a bit scary and aggressive....

They also had horse rides for the kiddos and surprisingly, Bella loved it! Her first pony ride was this past October and she didn't like it too much, so I wasn't expecting her to like this one. Surprise, surprise!

Gardening in Beaumont....

Bella & I headed to Beaumont last week to spend a few days visiting family, and to give Brian an empty house to finish painting the kitchen (again!). Grandma had her surgery and we wanted to also see how she was doing. I only managed to pull out my camera when we were at The Dietz Farm (Steph & Tim's), so again, not very many pictures.

Bella loved helping Steffy in the garden, she even had her very own pink hoe.

Another highlight for Bella being at Steph's was the water spray bottle. Steph let her water all the plants, etc and then Bella ran around squirting everything else. Yes, me included!

Bella enjoyed playing & working in the garden so much that we're going to try our hands at a little garden of our own. I think it'd be a great project for Bella to do. She'll be able to plant, water, see the produce grow, and see the entire process of getting the vegetables to the table. Hmmm...maybe she'll even want to eat more veggies???

Bella has a new, PINK Barbie car!

Yes...the title means EXACTLY what you're thinking! Bella is officially potty trained. Yay! We had originally promised her a Barbie car for poopy in the potty (see post a month ago), and she went 3 complete days in the potty before asking for the car. We weren't going to remind her, plus I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to revert back to her old diaper ways.

I am super dooper proud to announce that our house is diaper free (they were donated to a younger friend) and we will NOT be buying any more in our future either. So without further adieu, we would like to show you Bella's new Barbie car....
